Polar Focus also provided PE stamped drawings for the state of PA.
This was a neat and clean job by the team at RPC Video. Go Nittany Lions!

Reformation Lutheran Church

Paul Colella of McClelland Sound in Wichita asked Polar Focus to design rigging for this installation at Reformation Lutheran Church.

This cluster utilized 10 JBL Professional VT4886 line array modules as a main cluster, 1 JBL AC2895 as a fill box, and a Danley Sound Labs, Inc. TH118i subwoofer. All of the speakers were supported from a steel I beam in a recessed cavity behind sheetrock at the peak of the roof. The line array was interesting in that we used hidden counterweights on the front of the line array frame to avoid using a pull back. Of course, the main cluster has infinitely adjustable tilt under load.

Clean installation with custom color on speakers and rigging by Paul and his team.

Orpheum Theater

Steve Olson of the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis called us for help upgrading the house sound system, including new rigging. Steve elected to use a center cluster of ten Electro-Voice XLD291 along with left and right clusters each using one EVF 2151D with an EVH 1152S.

Each side cluster connected into a group using the Electro-Voice grouping hardware. Polar Focus provided the powdercoated lighting truss, and all of the hardware down to the tops of the speakers. Polar Focus also provided PE stamped drawings for the state of Minnesota for this design. Here are some photos Steve sent us of the completed installation. Beautiful work, Steve!

Ravena School System Installation

This beautiful system in Ravena, NY was installed by Ronco Communications & Specialized, led by Scott Hall. The job used JBL Professional PD6322/66 loudspeakers in a transverse format. It was desirable to use these speakers with yokes, but the speakers did not have yoke holes at the center of gravity.

Polar Focus designed laser plate adapters for the ends of the speakers, to present yoke holes and then fabricated custom matching yokes. The yokes were supported by the Polar Focus Stem product, which allowed for a clean penetration through the ceiling panel, and acted as a cable raceway so no signal cable was visible. This system looks and sounds terrific. Good work by Scott and the gang at Ronco!

The Stone Church – Brattleboro, VT

Robin Johnson of The Stone Church contacted us to find a clean and economical line array installation method in this beautiful church building in Brattleboro, VT.

The speakers utilized were 3 JBL Professional VRX 932 per side. Each cluster was
aimed using a Polar Focus Blackbird frame with infinite tilt adjustability, with
structural extension posts that are also cable raceways. Each cluster had full pan
and tilt adjustability with no visible shackles, wire rope, chain or signal cable.

Design assistance was provided by Klondike Sound of Greenfield, MA. We enjoyed
being a part of this project, great work Robin and the Klondike Sound team!

Polar Focus rigging for Bose RoomMatch

Southland Baptist Temple contacted Mark Lowrance of Lowrance Sound Company, Inc. of Union City, Tennessee to upgrade their sound system. Mark utilized a design with Bose Professional RoomMatch line array modules in a left and right configuration, along with a downfiring RMS-123 model subwoofer on each side.

Additional speakers from Bose were used as choir fills. Mark chose Polar Focus for our family of wood beam brackets for super clean installation. Polar Focus also offered an aftermarket line array frame for the Bose RoomMatch with integral tilt control and a full range of accessories. Using a Custom Beam Attachment to connect to the wood beams with a structural extension post that was also a cable raceway resulted in a very clean and safe installation. This system looks great and sounds better!

The team at Lowrance Sound specializes in high quality sound systems installed well.

SAUGATUCK, MI – Shannon Stewart of Stewart Independent Production was seeking a better solution than conventional rigging allows when flying a line array on a lift tower. He found the solution with the Polar Focus Spine Frame Adapter. “The Spine Frame Adapter design is flawless in its ease of attachment, pan and tilt capability and control,” Stewart explains. “The mounting bracket goes on the tower in seconds securely and with redundant safety chains.”

Says Shannon Stewart of Stewart Independent Production, “When flying line array from Genie ST20 Super Towers, or any lift tower for that matter, we wanted a better solution than conventional rigging allows. We want fast consistent, safe, rigid rigging points that allow for great pan and tilt capabilities that can easily be adjusted on the ground or at trim and easily matched tower to tower.”

Stewart says they contacted Polar Focus Rigging and found their solution with the Spine Frame Adapter. “They have a very cool crank tower line array mount with a spine frame that allows for two in-line rigging points and everything we were looking for as mentioned above and more.”

The crank-lift mounting bracket holds up to 800 lbs. It is custom fabricated based on comparing tower manufacturer specs with the measurement of actual fork-play in the client’s own lift towers of the same model.

“The Spine Frame Adapter design is flawless in its ease of attachment, pan and tilt capability and control,” Stewart explains. “The mounting bracket goes on the tower in seconds securely and with redundant safety chains.”

Stewart adds, “Everyone on crew is not only impressed, they are grateful for the new rigging tools from Polar Focus. It is not often that everyone on any crew is grateful, so we can’t say enough good about this product and the company’s design and fabrication capacity.”
