Polar Focus line array rigging for Adamson loudspeakers

Polar Focus line array rigging for Adamson line arrays

Polar Focus assisted Seth May from SDMTEC, LLC in the Syracuse area with flying these two arrays of ADAMSON IS7’s, as well as some single Adamson fill speakers from sloped beams in a house of worship installation. Polar Focus provided Custom Beam Attachments for attaching all the speaker loads to the sloped beams. We also provided SFA tilt bars for infinitely adjustable line array tilt control, as well as wire rope assemblies for the side fills.

This looks amazing and will serve the congregation for years to come. Here’s what Seth had to say about Polar Focus hardware:
“The project went best case scenario! The Polar Focus pieces were exactly as specified and expected and the client is incredibly pleased with both the esthetics of the new hang placement and the audio coverage we were able to accomplish for the project. Attached are a couple photos of the completion. Thank you for working with us to come up with a rock solid deployment for this.”
-Seth May

You’re welcome, Seth! It’s always great to work with new customers!!

Polar Focus line array rigging vs. Sacramento earthquake

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Little Antelope Valley, California on the afternoon of July 8, 2021. The tremors reached Sacramento, where Polar Focus rigging is suspending Martin Audio Ltd. line arrays at a House of Worship installation. We received the following email from our client, Keith Wackford, at Sacramento Production Services Inc.

From the Church Sound Engineer:
ā€œIā€™m happy to report that the Polar Focus and Martin Audio WPS line array rigging did its job during that earthquake that just happened. I looked out and they were swinging away. What a trip.ā€

Polar Focus supplied a custom rigging system for this venue featuring Spine Frame Adapters, PY-UJ-Post components, as well as PE Stamped Drawings for the State of California. The rigging attachment to the roof structure was rigid, conforming to local building codes. The integral universal joints in the rigging system allowed the line arrays to gently and safely sway back and forth to accommodate the seismic event. Unfortunately, the sanctuary didn’t have video, as we would have liked to see that! Shown here are some still images from the venue.

Scott Tomashek of Camera Corner Connecting Point contacted us for assistance with two new facilities at a local casino property in the Upper Midwest. Each of the two rooms had an identical and very unusual roof. The roofs had sloped trusses that were stepped, with each truss having a high end and a low end, and neighboring trusses at differing heights. In each room, a lighting truss structure supported a large amount of AV equipment. With uneven roof trusses, keeping everything level and evenly loaded was a challenge.

In the first room, there were four AL Series mid-hi’s, two Y Series arrays and two 21S subwoofer speakers from d&b Audiotechnik. In the second room, there were two d&b audiotechnik J-Sub subwoofers along with a 12.5′ diameter round video wall. The weights for the two complete systems were 2,2148 lbs. and 7,049 lbs., respectively. supplied all of the speaker rigging, including Spine Frame Adapters and custom components, lighting truss, rigging design, and PE Stamped drawings for the state where this job was installed. All mid-hi arrays have independent pan and tilt, as well as adjustment under full load.

The team at Camera Corner did an outstanding job gathering the data for the irregular roof pattern, and installing both systems. Great job Scott and the crew at Camera Corner!

Texas church installs QSC AP5122

Polar Focus rigging for QSC loudspeakers rigging at Texas church

Larry Serna and Serg Beana from Bertie’s Music in El Paso, TX contacted us recently for assistance flying these speakers at a church. There are two QSC AP5122 with the stock QSC yokes. Polar Focus supplied roof attachment and our Stem product, allowing a super clean look through this drop ceiling. The Stem has a internal cable raceway, allowing the signal cables to be run inside the rigging. Stems work well with both line arrays and yoke-mounted single loudspeakers, and can be manufactured up to 16′ in length.

Serg emailed us after the installation: “Attached you will find a few pics of the completed project. Everything went smoothly. Our customer was very pleased (as were we) with the final outcome.”
