Polar Focus line array rigging for Adamson loudspeakers

Polar Focus assisted Seth May from SDMTEC, LLC in the Syracuse area with flying these two arrays of ADAMSON IS7’s, as well as some single Adamson fill speakers from sloped beams in a house of worship installation. Polar Focus provided Custom Beam Attachments for attaching all the speaker loads to the sloped beams. We also provided SFA tilt bars for infinitely adjustable line array tilt control, as well as wire rope assemblies for the side fills.

This looks amazing and will serve the congregation for years to come. Here’s what Seth had to say about Polar Focus hardware:

Polar Focus line array rigging vs. Sacramento earthquake

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Little Antelope Valley, California on the afternoon of July 8, 2021. The tremors reached Sacramento, where Polar Focus rigging is suspending Martin Audio Ltd. line arrays at a House of Worship installation. We received the following email from our client, Keith Wackford, at Sacramento Production Services Inc.

From the Church Sound Engineer:
“I’m happy to report that the Polar Focus and Martin Audio WPS line array rigging did its job during that earthquake that just happened. I looked out and they were swinging away. What a trip.”

Polar Focus supplied a custom rigging system for this venue featuring Spine Frame Adapters, PY-UJ-Post components, as well as PE Stamped Drawings for the State of California. The rigging attachment to the roof structure was rigid, conforming to local building codes. The integral universal joints in the rigging system allowed the line arrays to gently and safely sway back and forth to accommodate the seismic event. Unfortunately, the sanctuary didn’t have video, as we would have liked to see that! Shown here are some still images from the venue.

Adamson Line Arrays

Jim Crews from Commercial Audio Systems in Springdale Arkansas got in touch with us for assistance rigging two ADAMSON IS7 line arrays at a local performing arts center. Polar Focus provided a motorized hoist system, featuring two Stagemaker hoists.

We also provided our Spine Frame Adapter, a Motor Zbeam, Rigging Beam Clamps and Posts. This system is infinitely adjustable in both pan and tilt, and is easily serviceable. It looks great and will serve this facility for years to come! Great work by Jim and the team at Commercial Audio Systems.

Hobby Center, Houston TX

We received these great photos from Boomer Bardo and Nathan Haworth of Houston’s Hobby Center for the Performing Arts for this installation at Zilkha Hall.

Polar Focus provided our Swift line array frame, which is designed to fit Berkeley, CA manufactured loudspeakers.  This system looks terrific and will serve the venue for years to come.

World Overcomers Church, Memphis TN

Carl Woodard of MC2 Solutions contacted us for assistance with these Community Professional Loudspeakers IV6 Modular Vertical Arrays at World Overcomers Church in Memphis, TN. Polar Focus manufactures and designs rigging frames and accessories for Community IV6 – frames are available through your Community rep, accessories are available through Polar Focus.

For this installation, we provided our extension post accessory, which allows a super clean installation from one rigging point with a cable raceway, allowing the signal wires to be safely stored within the extension post. Des Moines Performing Arts

John Simhauser from Audio Logic Systems in Minnesota got in touch with us for help rigging these d&b V series line arrays and center cluster at Des Moines Performing Arts.

The weight of these clusters is a whopping 1143 lbs each. Polar Focus provided Spine Frame Adapters for tilt control, as well as PY1-ZBR-1550 Zbeams with Rocker Arm, intended for lifting a cluster from two chain hoists for each of the side clusters.

We also supplied a Custom Center Bar for the center cluster of two d&b Vp10 speakers.

Each of the left and right arrays are comprised of ten d&b V8’s, with two V series subwoofers.
